Popular weeping cherry due to its appealing double pink flowers which hang in copious bunches throughout Spring, Grafted between 1.5m and 2m high. Foliage progresses from green through to Autumn shades of yellow, orange and red. Has a spreading habit. Cheals require good water, sun, wind protection and fertile well drained soils. Prone to cherry slug during Summer. Great speciman tree. Suitable for small gardens.

Cherry - ornamental — Rosea Weeping Cherry

Beautiful weeping cherry which produces numerous small pale pink single blooms along slender branches in early Spring. Grafted between 1.5 and 2 metres high. Foliage transforms from green to reds and yellows providing a showy display in Autumn. This moderately growing weeping tree is best for cooler areas. Plant in a well drained rich soil which receives regular watering and is protected from the wind as wind damages the flowers. Prune annually. Cherry slug often attacks the leaves in the warmer months. Popular specimen tree due to its clusters of stunning blossoms.

Multiple branching shrub with an open spreading habit 5-7m tall. Leaves are green rounded to oval shaped and turn a striking purple in Autumn. Flowers are in large inflorescence which elongate into yellow/pink to pinkish/purple feathery plumes producing puffs of smoke in Summer. A spectacular deciduous plant. Needs good drainage. Does well in poor rocky soils.

Gingko — Maidenhair Tree

The Maidenhair tree has fan shaped leaves turning from matt green to bright yellow in Autumn. Its grey/brown bark is fissured. Produces a fleshy plum like seed which turns from yelllow/green to orange/brown when ripe. Can grow up to 40 metres high. A native of China. Fossil records dated between 150-200 million years ago indicate similar trees were distributed all across the world. However, this genus has only a single member and is usually classed as a conifer. It is however, believed to be even more primitive than conifers. Its Autumn buttery yellow colour makes a spectacular display.
