Betula(birch) — Weeping Birch
Betula pendula 'Youngii'
A weeping tree grafted between 1.2m and 1.5m high. Has a dome or mushroom shaped head. Branches are weeping with typical birch leaves. Ideal as a specimen tree in the garden. Has silvery white bark which becomes fissured with age.
Betula(birch) — Manchurian Birch
Betula mandshurica var.japonica
The Manchurian Birch has white bark on the trunk which does not fissure with age like many other Birches. It has very twiggy branches with typical birch leaves.

Betula pendula
Silver Birch has a slender crown with silvery a white trunk which becomes fissured and black with age at the base. Branches are pendulous with broadly ovate leaves. Silver Birches are commonly planted in clumps of at least 5 trees. These trees are spectacular in Winter when they have no leaves and show off their magnificent bark on the trunk. Planted in front of a dark background will show off its bark. Spectacular when used in conjunction with night lighting. Also known as the European White Birch. A native of Asia and Europe.

Betula pendula 'Moss White'
Suited to street plantings, parks and gardens. Can be planted as an individual tree or in clumps. The trunk is grey when young which turns to white as it ages. Bright green foliage turning pale yellow in Autumn. Produces long pale green catkins. Deciduous tree growing to (10 x 5m).

Betula platylphylla japonica ' White Spire'
This birch has pure white bark which does not fissure at the base of the tree. Has glandular warty twiggy branches with serrated leaves. Produces catkins
