Magnolia — Saucer Magnolia
Magnolia soulangiana
A small rounded spreading tree with smooth silvery bark and large green leaves. Renowned for its large spectacular white and rose cup like fragrant flowers in Spring. Adapts to site conditions. Protect from wind and frost. Prefers rich soils with full to part shade. A specimen tree in any garden due to its outstanding blooms.
Melia — White Cedar
Melia azedarach
A small to medium sized spreading deciduous tree with ridged brown bark. Its dark green leaves turn a brilliant yellow in Autumn. White Cedars produce clusters of wonderful star shaped lilac/pink blooms in Spring and sometimes Summer. Known for their fragrant chocolate smelling scent these trees are hardy and adapt to most sites. Protect from frosts. Plant in streets and parks where its blooms can be appreciated.
Mulberry - ornamental — Weeping Mulberry
Morus alba 'pendula'
Grafted at approximately 2metres this moderately growing ornamental mulberry has long pendulous branches often arching to the ground. It's heart shaped shiny green foliage turns yellowish over Autumn. Weeping Mulberry's have inconspicuous flowers. Will grow in full to partial shade. Enjoys fertile soils. Prune annually. An attractive weeping tree that is just as spectacular in Winter when dormant. Excellent for small gardens as a specimen tree.
Nyssa — Black Tupelo
Nyssa syvatica
A medium sized moderately growing ( 20m to 25m) deciduous tree with a rounded pyramidal habit. Produces extremely attractive Autumn colours ranging from purples to scarlet and yellow. It remains a glossy dark green in other seasons. Flowers are inconspicuous they are white/green and appear in clusters. Prefers moist, well drained slightly acidic soils in full sun. Has shown to be tolerant to wetter and dryer conditions. Wonderful foliage. Spectacular tree for landscaping.
Paulownia — Powton Tree
Paulownia tomentosa
Also known as Paulownia and the Empress Tree. Originating from China this tree grows 15 to 20 metres in height. Leaves are large ovate to heart shaped, dark green and hairy. This is a moderate to fast growing tree with purple fragrant flowers in Spring. Protect from the wind.
