Persimmon — Jiro
This medium sized, upright growing tree produces fruit similar to Fuyu. During April/May large segmented orange/red fruit matures with a crisp firm skin and a fantastic sweet flavour. Trees are generally self fertile but other varieties can be used under some circumstances. Fruit is seedless. Jiro are known for their superb quality and good storing capabilities. Great eaten fresh, mix in salads and dried fruit.
Maturity: approximately April/May
Persimmon — Izu
Small heavy cropping tree which requires thinning and is suited to cooler Autumns. Fruit is eaten fresh or can be dried. Wonderful specimen tree as it has magnificent orange/red autumn leaves which drop to reveal the dark orange fruit on a bare tree
Maturity: matures approximately April, before Fuyu
Persimmon — Dai Dai Maru (Astringent type)
A vigorous growing regular heavy cropping tree which will require thinning. Produces brilliant orange red round fruit which is astringent. Fruit needs to be eaten when flesh becomes soft. Has a poor shelf life. Eat fresh or use in salads.

Persimmon — Fuyu
Fuyu is a reliable heavy bearing tree producing orange/red coloured flat round fruit. Fruit can be eaten fresh or dried. This tree can also be used as a specimen as it has magnificent Autumn foliage. Red/orange leaves drop to reveal the striking coloured fruit on a bare tree.
Maturity: approximately April/May
Persimmon — Suruga
Similar to Fuyu, this fruit is non astringent. Fruit is eaten fresh. A great specimen tree as it has red/orange leaves in Autumn which drop to reveal the dark orange fruit on a bare tree. Very striking.
