Peach — Flordagold
Prunus Persica 'Fordagold'.
Flordagold is a good commercial variety with large light red on yellow fruit and a very firm juicy yellow flesh. Semi freestone. Matures early in the season- late November and has pink blossom in mid Spring. Trees are deciduous and form a round vase shape. Best in low-chill areas planted in full sun and moist drained soils. Correct pruning is required.
Maturity: Approximately late November early season
Pear — Bartlett
Pyrus communis 'Bartlett'
This popular variety bears heavy crops. Pick when light green allowing fruit to ripen from the tree into a lovely yellow. Bartlett's mature early in the season and keeps it consistency well under refrigeration. Can use for fresh fruits to desserts and also drying. A very versatile pear.
Maturity: approximately January, February, early season
Persimmon — Dai Dai Maru (Astringent type)
Diospyros kaki 'Dai Dai Maru'
A vigorous growing regular heavy cropping tree which will require thinning. Produces brilliant orange red round fruit which is astringent. Fruit needs to be eaten when flesh becomes soft. Has a poor shelf life. Eat fresh or use in salads.
Maturity: approximately April/May
Persimmon — Fuyu
Diospyros kaki 'Fuyu'
Fuyu is a reliable heavy bearing tree producing orange/red coloured flat round fruit. Fruit can be eaten fresh or dried. This tree can also be used as a specimen as it has magnificent Autumn foliage. Red/orange leaves drop to reveal the striking coloured fruit on a bare tree.
Maturity: approximately April/May
Plum — Gulf Ruby
Prunus salicinia 'Gulf Ruby'
This large, oval shaped reddish plum has a lovely sweet flavour and yellow juicy flesh. It can be planted by itself as it is self fertile but is also compatible with Sunrise Gulf.Suitable for warmer coastal areas.
Maturity: approximately early to mid December
