Rootstock — Troyer
Troyer rootstock have average tolerance to salinity and good results in sand, loam or poor draining soils. Has reasonably strong resistance against phytophthora, tristeza, excortis and nematodes. Grows medium size, thin, smooth fruit with a high juicy content. Can not be planted in high alkaline soils.
Rootstock — Citronelle (Rough Lemon)
Rough Lemon is best planted on virgin soils. It produces a good quality tree with thick skinned large rough fruit. Trees are susceptible to nematodes, root diseases, water logging and phytophthora. Shows strong resistance to exocortix and tristeza. Average tolerance to alkaline and loam soils. Performs well in sand. Poor tolerance to salinity.
Rootstock — Swingle Citrumelo
Stock which is compatible with grapefruit and oranges. Little is known on lemons but is incompatible with Eureka Lemon. Performs poorly in calcareous/high lime soils but otherwise grows well. Is as tolerant to rootrots as other citrus stock but shows greater tolerance to water logging and nematodes.
Rootstock — Golden Queen
Golden Queen rootstock is compatible with peach, nectarine, plum and apricot cultivars. The stock produces larger trees with uniform vigour. Prefers lighter dry soils to damp sites, does sucker. This rootstock is very dependable. Not nematode resistant
Rootstock — Elberta
Elberta is a common peach rootstock similar to Golden Queen. It is moderately vigorous and adapts to numerous soil conditions. Elberta favours drained soils but are more resistant than nemaguard on wet sites. A dependable good cropping stock. Susceptible to root knot nematodes, lesions and lime chlorosis.
