Chestnut — Spanish Red or Red Spanish
Sometimes called Wandenberg this mid season variety matures after Buffalo Queen. Trees produce very large nuts however are shy bearing so no pruning is required. Is an easy peel variety which is fantastic in winter soups and puree's.
Chestnut — De Coppi Marone
De Coppi Marone is a strong growing bell shaped tree which produces smooth textured sweet nuts during mid to late season. Fruit falls freely from the burr, is easy to peel and best roasted.
Chestnut — Buffalo Queen
Buffalo Queen is a slow open growing tree which fruits early in the season. Nuts fall free from the burr and are easy peeling. Has a large nut size particularly when pruned
Chestnut — Early Brown
Sometimes known as Brown Early. It is a large red tinted and sometimes stripey nut. Plant with other cultivars to aid in pollination.
