A broadly conical shaped tree growing to approximately 25m in height. Has rounded glossy green leaves. Deciduous. A tree suited to any large garden. Has woody 3cm long fruit ripening from green to brown. A native of Italy.

Plant information
Origin: Public variety.
Status: Public.
Flower: Has male and female catkins on the same tree. Male catkins are drooping and conspicuous while the female catkin is upright and not as obvious. Male catkins are approximately 7cm long and yellow. Female catkins are small and red. Both flower in Spring.
Leaf shape: Heart shaped leaf, base rounded to 10cm wide and across, toothed.
Leaf colour: Glossy dark green, paler on the underside of leaf.
