Quercus(oak) — White Swamp Oak
Quercus bicolour

Quercus bicolour - White Swamp Oak
A deciduous, fast growing tree reaching 20-25m with a rounded dense canopy. Has attractive dark grey bark which is roughly furrowed and streaked with white. The bark on the branches tends to peel. Its lobed dark green leaves turn to brown/yellow and occasionally red tones in Autumn. Its Spring flowers are inconspicuous. Also has acorns. The White Swamp Oak is typically a wetland tree, however, they tolerate drought and moderate soil compactness. Best in moist drained soils. Do not plant in Alkaline areas as it is prone to iron chlorosis. Great tree for landscaping in parks and wetlands.
