Medium growing 2x2m deciduous shrub with delicate double white blooms appearing in large panicles through late Spring. Flowers produce a sweet smelling fragrance. Leaves are deep green and broadly ovate and turn purple in Autumn. Cora Brandt is a fascinating shrub for small gardens, screens and hedges. Will stand out being a late bloomer.

Leaf colour: Green turning purple in Autumn.

Growing conditions: Plant lilacs in cooler areas. They prefer a sunny position in drained rich soil. Dislike acidic soils. Prune. Remove dead flower heads. Maintain water through dry spells. Susceptible to frost damage. Plant graft union below ground level.

 

Disease: Suffers from powdery mildew and lilac blight. Pests include borers, leaf miner and scale.
