Purpurea Crab Apple - Malus x purpurea
This small sized crab apple grows to (5x3m) and has a spreading habit. Deciduous. Produces clusters of stunning deep red flowers in Spring on slender stems. In Autumn different shades of orange tinge the dark purple/green foliage. Purpurea prefers well drained soil in part to full sun. The tree produces small fruits suitable for making crab apple jam.
