Extremely popular medium to large round grape which hangs in compact conical bunches. It's thin green/ yellow skin has a firm and crunchy texture. Seedless variety, ripens in January. Used for table grape and raisins.

Maturity: early January.

Fruit size: Medium to large.

Fruit shape: Round.

Skin: Thin, green to yellow and firm.

Flesh colour: Clear and white.

Texture: Firm, juicy and crisp - soft inside.

Flavour: Sweet mild muscat.

Seed or stone: Seedless.

Storage period: 3 months frozen. Refrigerated ; 7-10 days.

Yield: Excellent cropper.

Growing conditions: Plant in winter in an open sunny position with well drained soil (Sandy to clay loam). Grapes tolerate salt and water logging reasonably well. Prefers a warm and dry summer climate as frost damages young shoots and rain splits fruit..

 

Disease: Fungal diseases cause problems in humid regions. (Powdery and Downy Mildews are common, along with Botrytis and Black Spot) Trees become zinc deficient in Alkaline soils. Pests include Birds, Mites, Mealy bugs, Weevils, Rabbits, Snails, Light Brown Apple Moth and Bunch Mite.
