This small pear has pretty green yellow and red blushed skin. Wonderful juicy refreshing crisp taste and comes into season during late January. Perfect for children's lunch boxes as it is not a large pear.

Fruit information

Maturity: approximately late January.

Fruit size: Small.

Fruit shape: Ovate-pyriform.

Skin: Green/yellow with red blush.

Flesh colour: White.

Texture: Juicy.

Flavour: Sweet.

Plant information

Origin: Public variety.

Status: Public.

Pollinators: Packham's Triumph but can produce without a pollinator.

Flower: showy and white.

Growing conditions: Prefers deep heavier soils (loam), well drained. Dislikes very alkaline soils. Plant in a sunny protected site as blooms are prone to frost damage.

 

Disease: Prone to blight under warmer wet conditions.

Cultivation notes: Prune off dead wood during Winter.
