The Honey Murcott, or Murcott, is a late bearing hybrid mandarin x tangerine. The fruit is very sweet flavoured and has a near perfect appearance.

Fruit information
Maturity: August to December.
Fruit size: Small to medium.
Fruit shape: Round but slightly flat.
Skin: Thin skinned. Tight, earily semented and bright orange.
Texture: High juice content. Some seeds.
Flavour: Sweet.
Seed or stone: Seeded.
Storage: Cold storage.
Storage period: Long storage life - good for export.
Yield: Heavy, with alternate years to lighter crops.

Tree shape: Long weeping branches.
Height: Up to 4m approximately.
Growing conditions: Warm, sunny and well drained soils. Frost sensitive. Likes light, loamy soils.
Cultivation notes: Avoid cultivating around surface roots.
Comments: Has been popular for export, especially South East Asia.
