An old fashioned variety. It produces smooth, sweet tasting fruit but is prone to alternate bearing.

Fruit information

Maturity: July to August approximately.

Fruit size: Large to medium.

Fruit shape: Flat.

Skin: Tight skin. Can be difficult to peel. Bright orange.

Flesh colour: Deep orange.

Texture: Smooth. Seeded numbers vary.

Flavour: Strong/rich flavour. High sugar and acid content.

Seed or stone: Seeded.

Storage: Cold Storage.

Storage period: Upwards of 3 months.

Yield: Alternate bearing.

Origin: Public variety.

Status: Public.

Pollinators: Self fertile.

Tree shape: Medium size with horizontal branches. Tree has weak crotches and is prone to limb splitting.

Growing conditions: Prefers sub-tropical and inlands areas.

 

Harvest notes: Stores well on tree.

Comments: Eating quality increased by storage.
