Fruit information

Maturity: approximately mid to late March.

Fruit size: Small to medium.

Fruit shape: Ovate - pyriform.

Skin: Greeny undercolour with a brown russett.

Flesh colour: White/yellow.

Texture: Moderately firm, smooth and juicy.

Storage: stores well.

Chill: High chill.

Yield: good.

Status: Public.

Pollinators: Packham Triumph, Josephine.

Tree shape: Willowy delicate.

Flower: showy and white.

Leaf shape: small and narrow.

Growing conditions: Prefers deep heavier soils (loam) and well drained. Dislikes very alkaline soils. Plant in a sunny protected site as blooms are prone to frost damage.

 

Disease: Prone to blight under warmer wet Spring conditions.

Harvest notes: Prune dead wood during Winter.
