Lapin Cherry - Prunus avium 'Lapins'
Medium sized, upright spreading tree which reaches 4m x 4m. Looks very pretty with dark green leaves changing to red, orange and yellow through Autumn and blooming in Spring. Large, dark, heart shaped fruit ripen later in the season. Cherries are firm and juicy with a good flavour. Moderately split resistant. Is a popular variety and a strong cropper.

Growing conditions: Plant cherries in deep well drained fertile soils, from gravels to sandy loams withv a pH range of 6.2/6.8. Plants prefer full sun and good air circulation to prevent ripe cherries splitting under rainy conditions. Avoid areas prone to frosts and wind.
Disease: Brown Rot, Cherry Leaf Spot and Bacterial Cranker.
Harvest notes: Has long thin stalks.
Comments: Sensitive to wind when blossoming.
