Frantoio olive

Frantoio is an excellent variety for first class oil with quality and constant fruit production. Olives ranging from yellow and purple to black and green. This variety grows equal in cool and warm areas with good fungal resistance. Not only is it hardy, its a good olive variety to assist others with pollination.

Fruit information

Maturity: May to June.

Fruit size: Average.

Fruit shape: Oval elongated.

Skin: Yellow and purple, sometimes black and some stay green.

Flavour: Fruity with strong after taste.

Yield: High constant fruit production.

Status: Public.

Pollinators: Self fertile but can use Pendolino.

Bloom period: Late spring.

Tree shape: Semi drooping, open structure, flexable branches.

Flower: small white (cream).

Roots: Sturdy extensive root system.

Leaf colour: Bright green, grey green beneath.

 

Disease: Reasonable cold resistance as well as fungal diseases.
