A popular Spanish variety, the Fino produces juicy and acidic fruit. Similar to the Eureka lemon, it is favoured due to its consistently heavy crops.

Maturity: Winter to early Spring.
Fruit size: Small to medium size. Smaller than Eureka.
Fruit shape: Spherical - oval shape, short nipple.
Skin: Smooth thin rind with pale yellow skin.
Flesh colour: Pale yellow.
Texture: High juice contact. Average 5 seeds.
Flavour: High acidity.
Seed or stone: Seeded.
Storage: Cold storage.
Storage period: coolstore for several weeks.
Yield: Highly productive with uniform cropping. Out yields Eureka.

Tree shape: Vigorous and thorny. Tendancy to produce rootstock sucks. Evergreen.

Height: 3-3.6m approximately.

Growing conditions: Has shown some frost tolerance. Spacing required of 4.7m between trees. Needs full sun.
Disease: Some melanose. Can suffer from blue and green mould when stored after several weeks.
Harvest notes: Major crop in Winter and small crops in Spring/Autumn.
