Rons Seedling Cherry - Prunus avium 'Rons Seedling'
Very popular medium sized, multibranched tree, with an upright spreading habit. Produces large good quality firm juicy cherries with a strong flavour. Extremely versatile wonderful for cooking- bottling/jams or any preserving. Rons have moderate split resistance and its foilage puts on a showy autumn display.

Maturity: Mid season. Late November.
Fruit size: Large.
Fruit shape: Heart shaped.
Skin: Dark red/ Purple to near black. Tough skin.
Flesh colour: Dark red.
Texture: Firm and juicy.
Flavour: Excellent and strong.
Storage period: Few days at room temperature. If canned or frozen; several months.

Leaf colour: Dark green foilage. Exellent Autumn colour changing through red, orange and yellow tones.
Growing conditions: Plant cherries in deep well drained fertile soils, from gravels to sandy loams with a pH between 6.2/6.8. Plants prefer full sun and good air circulation to prevent ripe cherrie splittng under rainy conditions. Avoid areas prone to frosts or winds.
Disease: Brown Rot, Bacterial Cranker and Cherry Leaf Spot.
