This small to medium sized round, soft flesh juicy fruit has fantastic flavour. It has light orange/yellow red tinged skin. Newcastle produces good crops and may need thinning. It ripens in November and is self fertile and is popular with home gardeners. It is extremely versatile - use either fresh or cooked.

Cultivation notes: Requires good water over the growing season. Is frost sensitive. Plant in full sun with fertile well drained soils. Fruit may need thinning to increase overall fruit size.
Harvest notes: Pick when firm. If fruit is unripe store at room temperature in a dark place. Once fully ripe fruit will last 1-4 days in a plastic bag in the fridge. Handle carefully as fruit bruises easily.
