Also known as the 'Pink Marsh' the Thompson's Pink grapefruit is a popular variety due to its seedless large fruit. The tree is vigorous and productive nearly every season.

Fruit information

Maturity: Mid winter - June/July.

Fruit size: Medium 7-9.5cm.

Fruit shape: Oblate to round.

Skin: Light yellow, smooth and small glands, faintly aromatic.

Flesh colour: Pink.

Texture: Seedless and light 12-14 segments with 3-5 seeds.

Flavour: Light, flushed with pink at the centre.

Storage: cold storage.

Storage period: 3 weeks.

Status: PUBLIC.

Pollinators: Self fertile.

Bloom period: 14 months to blossom.

Tree shape: Vigorous large and productive. Soft short thorns in the twigs. Large rounded canopy.

Flower: Flowers late Winter to early Spring, 4 Petalled and white.

Leaf shape: Evergreen. Fragrant, thick and glossy. Oval small oil glands and winged petioles.

Growing conditions: Cold sensitive and requires full sun.

 

Harvest notes: Fruit holds well on tree. Flesh fades as the season progresses.
