A medium to large apricot on an orange background with 30-50% red blush. Meaty, dense and good flavour.A HortResearch NZ apricot variety exclusive to ANFIC. Cluthafire PBR is a selection from the Riwaka series of apricots, which were derived from open pollinated progeny of Cluthagold. Available for testing.Matures approximately -41 days before Fantasia, approximately 5 days after Trevatt, similar to Cluthagold

Fruit information

Fruit size: Medium to large, approximately 100-110 grams.

Fruit shape: Ovate.

Skin: Orange background with 30-50% red blush overcolour.

Flesh colour: Orange.

Texture: Dense, meaty.

Flavour: Good apricot flavour, similar to Vulcan.

Seed or stone: Freestone.

Storage period: up to 3 weeks.

Yield: heavy.

Plant information

Origin: Riwaka.

Status: PBR.

PBR: Unauthorised commercial propagation or any sale, conditioning, export, import or stocking of propagating material of this variety is an infringement under the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994.

Pollinators: Requirements unknown but appears to set fruit freely in presence of other apricots.

Bloom period: overlaps with most varieties.

Growth rate: medium vigour.
