Layer beds

Ottawa 3 x Malus floribunda in 1981. A dwarfing rootstock which is very productive, similar to M9, growing good sized fruit. Trees are resistant to fire blight and apple scab but not to woolly apple aphids and powdery mildew. Threes have average root systems and adapt to a range of soils. Produces few suckers. Little is known yet on G16 rootstock. Plant at high densities
